From today, the Aula Leonardi, the room that houses Leonardo da Vinci’s Potrait of a Musician and the works of Leonardesque painters, reopens to the public with a new layout.
To ensure the best conservation and protection of the Portrait of a Musician , a new large display case was built; the painting was enclosed in a climaframe, equipped with electronic devices that allow continuous detection of temperature and relative humidity.
The interventions were carried out thanks to the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and the UBI Banca Popolare Commercio & Industria ONLUS Foundation.
“The Musician – says Monsignor Alberto Rocca, director of the Pinacoteca – was placed in display case, new in concept and technology, in the room that was once the Oratory of Santa Corona, where the master was probably present. Fortunately, Leonardo’s only panel painting left in Milan is located in what the master called the “real center of Milan”.
The hall will be regularly visitable during the opening hours of the Pinacoteca:
Tuesday to Friday 2.00pm-6.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 10.00-18.00
Monday 1st November 2021 open 10.00-18.00
From 18.00 to 19.30 pm entrance to the Pinacoteca and Crypt at the special price of €3.00
