Mons. Marco Navoni is the new Prefect of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana

The Archbishop of Milan, His Excellency Mons. Mario Delpini, has appointed Msgr. Marco Maria Navoni Prefect of the College of Fellows of the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana with effect from 27 February 2023.

Msgr. Navoni, born in Milan in 1953 and priest since 1977, has been a Doctor of the Ambrosiana since 1991 (Ordinary since 1996) and since 2018 he has covered the role of Vice-Prefect during the prefecture of Msgr. Marco Ballarini, to whom he succeeds as 27th Prefect of the College of Doctors, established by Federico Borromeo in 1604.
Mons. Navoni, B.A., has numerous publications to his credit, especially in the fields of studies on Saint Ambrose, the history of the Ambrosian liturgy, the history of the Church of Milan and the history of art.
The College of Doctors, the Congregation of Conservators and all the collaborators of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana wish the new Prefect good and fruitful work.
