Ambrosiana

Christmas wishes from the Prefect of the Ambrosiana, Mons. Marco Ballarini

Looking at this splendid Nativity from Ghirlandaio’s workshop, one detail seems definitely interesting to me: in the background we notice the city where men live and, above it, a winged red being fleeing from it.
It is perhaps the angel of evil who leaves the place where men live, now freed by the birth of Christ.
This is the wish: may the may the angel of evil flee from our cities and our homes and the Angel of the Lord come to visit us.

Merry Christmas!
