ALTA OROLOGERIA BY DOLCE&GABBANA AT THE AMBROSIANA

From December 2, a work of unique artistic and cultural value enters the collections of the Ambrosiana: the majestic Chiaravalle tower clock manufactured and donated by Dolce&Gabbana.

The unique creation of Alta Orologeria becomes a permanent part of the heritage and exhibition itinerary of the Pinacoteca, in a special setting inside the Sala Federiciana.

Presented for the first time at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana on the occasion of the Dolce&Gabbana Alta Orologeria event in December 2019, this extraordinary example of watchmaking and craftsmanship, finds a new home in the same place where Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus is on display. The precious collection also includes a sheet dedicated to the clock of the Abbey of Chiaravalle, with a detailed drawing of the mechanism and numerous notes by the Florentine genius who, fascinated by the complexity of its gears, studied for a long time how to improve them.

Furthermore, from December 2 to 12 2021, the public of the Ambrosiana will be able to admire a selection of the most significant Dolce & Gabbana wristwatches within the rooms of the Pinacoteca, which combine the extraordinary craftsmanship of the movements produced in Switzerland with the goldsmith work entirely handmade in Italy.
