INTERACTIVE GUIDED TOUR FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL AND CATECHISM GROUPS
Guided by Federico Borromeo, the founder of the Ambrosiana Library and Art Gallery, we cross the halls of his museum and admire the masterpieces he collected, which, as in a journey through time, will take us to the distant 17th century, going back over the centuries to finally reach … the year 89 before Christ!
The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana was built on the remains of the Mediolanum forum: and then, as little travelers of the past, we go to visit the crypt of the church of the Holy Sepulcher and walk on the ancient stones of the most important “square” of the Roman city: Leonardo da Vinci knew it very well too!
INTERACTIVE GUIDED TOUR FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The ancient building of the Ambrosiana Library and Art Gallery stands on the remains of the millennial forum of Milan, right next to an equally millennial church, the one dedicated to the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. In fact, even the crypt of this sacred building was founded on the stones of the main square of Mediolanum, a place portrayed several times by a careful observer such as Leonardo da Vinci.
Through the words of the founder of the Ambrosiana, Federico Borromeo, we discover the masterpieces of his Musaeum (the first Milanese museum open to the public!), From Leonardo to Raffaello to Caravaggio, and we complete the journey back in time going down into the quiet of the crypt of the Holy Sepulcher: it will be an opportunity to step on the same stones that trod the inhabitants of Mediolanum and understand the historical stratifications the city.
