PINACOTECA AND CRYPT: SPECIAL OPENING HOURS FOR APRIL FESTIVITIES

On the occasion of the Design Week and the Easter holidays, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Crypt of San Sepolcro will be exceptionally open also on Wednesday April 9 and 23, from 10:00 to 18:00, as well as on Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and April 25.

A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the masterpieces of Leonardo, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio and many other masters of art, and to discover some of the most fascinating and history-rich places in the heart of Milan.

JUBILEE 2025 – XVII CENTENARY OF THE COUNCIL OF NICAEA

From December 19, 2024 to June 17, 2025 visitors can admire the exhibition “Jubilee 2025 – XVII Centenary of the Council of Nicaea” curated by Mons. Marco Navoni and Mons. Francesco Braschi in rooms 2 and 3 of the Pinacoteca.
The exhibition is divided into two closely connected sections in which works from the Ambrosiana Library and not normally visible to the public are displayed.

The other faces of the Ambrosiana

The most magical and ancient places of Milan: the ancient Forum where Constantine, St. Ambrose, St. Augustine and Theodosius walked, and the lower Church of Santo Sepolcro, built by the Crusaders… as well as a colossal statue of St. Charles Borromeo on Lake Maggiore; a Museum-Home at the Sacro Monte of Varese; a Foundation dedicated to the promotion of young artists: this is also the Ambrosiana!

CHURCH OF SAN SEPOLCRO

The church of San Sepolcro was founded in 1030, when a Milanese moneyer named Rozzone built a church on the ancient Roman forum. Archbishop Ariberto d’Intimiano solemnly consecrated it to the Holy Trinity.
