On the evening of December 2 we wait for you in Ambrosiana for a special evening!
From 18.45 you can access the art gallery for a free evening visit to the Renaissance masterpieces in the collections.
At 19.30, take your seat in the Sala Federiciana, surrounded by drawings from the Codex Atlanticus, for a concert by the Insubrass quintet, who will perform some of the most well-known Christmas classics.

Nicola Samorì | Classical collapse

The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte: two cities and two museum institutions, each with deeply distinct histories and identities, come together in a single joint project, Classical Collapse, by artist Nicola Samorì. The project moves beyond the logic of a ‘dual exhibition,’ presenting itself instead as a single, unified cultural undertaking conceived from the outset to unfold in two venues in dialogue with one another.

The most magical and ancient places of Milan: the ancient Forum where Constantine, St. Ambrose, St. Augustine and Theodosius walked, and the lower Church of Santo Sepolcro, built by the Crusaders… as well as a colossal statue of St. Charles Borromeo on Lake Maggiore; a Museum-Home at the Sacro Monte of Varese; a Foundation dedicated to the promotion of young artists: this is also the Ambrosiana!

The Colossus of Saint Charles in Arona, which popular tradition has affectionately dubbed San Carlone, was created in the seventeenth century at the behest of Federico Borromeo, archbishop of Milan and founder of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana.

The church of San Sepolcro was founded in 1030, when a Milanese moneyer named Rozzone built a church on the ancient Roman forum. Archbishop Ariberto d’Intimiano solemnly consecrated it to the Holy Trinity.
